Now in its ninth year a wide variety of area and regional musicians will perform in their concert series “For Love of the Sally” at Grand Haven’s D&W Fresh Market.  The concerts are to raise funds for the efforts of The Salvation Army in the Tri Cities area.

Frank Eimer and his group have been around the area since the 1960s. The band plays a mix of rock ’n’ roll, country and the blues covers, including tunes from the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s and ’80s. Members of the band include Eimer, lead guitar, John Jennings, saxophones, Tom Davis, drums, Fred Ploughman, keyboards, and perhaps steel guitarist Rick Barr. And everybody sings. Eimer and Jennings are in the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame.

Many of the musical performers—all volunteers who have offered their time and talents—are returning for yet another year of concerts. There also are several new acts. Last year area music lovers and supporters of The Salvation Army donated more than 23-hundred dollars during the concerts at D&W.

All proceeds go to The Salvation Army and all concerts are in the store’s café area.
