June’s First-Friday Dance at D&W
June 1, 2018 @ 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM
DonationThe June 1 First-Friday Dance at Grand Haven’s D&W Fresh Market will run from 7-10 p.m. The dance is an outreach of The Salvation Army in the Tri Cities area.
The dance will be held in the store’s café area with spillover dancing in the aisles. In addition to dancing, patrons are welcome to sit and enjoy the music and maybe buy a cup of coffee, a soft drink, and something to eat.
The Frank Eimer Band will provide live music. Frank and his group have been around the area since the 1960s. The band plays a mix of rock ’n’ roll, country and the blues covers, including tunes from the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s and ’80s. Members of the band include Eimer, lead guitar, John Jennings, saxophones, Tom Davis, drums, Fred Ploughman, keyboards, and perhaps steel guitarist Rick Barr. And everybody sings. Eimer and Jennings are in the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame.
Last month’s dance brought in $450.
The Grand Haven D&W Fresh Market is at 1116 Robbins Road.
